Bio:

Hans Uszkoreit is Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of the new AI-Enterprise nyonic in Berlin. He is also Scientific Director at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Berlin. Hans has worked for more than 35 years on AI, in Germany, USA and China. He was Full Professor of Computational Linguistics and Computer Science at Saarland University and Honorary Professor at Technical University Berlin. He is member of the European Academy of Sciences and the International Committee of Computational Linguistics. From 2017-19, he served as Chief AI Advisor for Lenovo. He (co-)authored more than 250 scientific publications, co-founded several AI start-ups and served on various supervisory and advisory boards. Recently, he has—as a key figure—contributed much of his efforts to the initiative LEAM (Large European AI Models), which has been supported by the German AI Association, other industry associations, major industrial players and research centers.
