Semantic Search for Business Registrations - Findings from the Project WZ-Suche for the State of NRW

Date:

Tuesday, November 14, 2023

Time:

On demand

Summary:

The domain specific knowledge of public authorities is often buried in an unmanageable number of unstructured or semi-structured documents, written in a technical language. This case study shows that modern semantic search can alleviate this barrier for self-service applications for citizens. A particular focus will be the fulfillment of secondary expectations generated by the structure of the classification of “economic activities” (“Wirtschaftszweige” – WZ 2008). In this session, we share our learnings from the project “WZ-Suche” for publicplan, d-NRW and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
