Bio:

Michael Feindt studied physics at the University of  Hamburg, and did his diploma, PhD and postdoc at the German particle accelerator center DESY. From 1991 to 1997 he was working at the world’s largest particle accelerator CERN, before he became professor for physics at the Karlsruhe Instituteof Technology KIT, from where he conducted experiments at CERN, Fermilab (USA) and KEK (Japan). He was the pioneer in very successfully applying Machine Learning to scientific analysis, as demonstrated in more than 1000 co- authorships of scientific publications and numerous talks on both physics and Machine Learning.

Michael started to train and apply neural networks in 1993 and invented e.g. the NeuroBayes algorithm and  Cyclic Boosting. Next to its scientific use he realized the economic value of ML very early and started numerous applications, especially in retail and finance.In 2002 he founded his first company Phi-T, in 2008 Blue Yonder. Blue Yonder developed to the world market leader in supply chain and retail AI/ML software, and Michael was responsible as Chief Scientific Advisor until recently.

Michael retired from Blue Yonder in April 2023 and now is engaged as Advisor, Business Angel and Investor.  Currently his largest investment and engagement lies in the Israeli startup bringy Ltd, a fast food delivery service concentrating on Arabic communities in Israel, with the aim to build a very strong and scalable high tech AI/ML optimized company.
